JACK PERKS WILDLIFE MEDIA NEWSLETTER
The whole GDPR thing made me think I should really be more proactive with my mail list so will be sending a email once a month (I don't want bombard you and I rarely have the time to do any more then that!) so each month it will have upcoming talks, workshops and other interesting titbits along any interesting news which will be on here first before any of my social media channels.
I went to the Lake District last week trying to film one of the fish on my hit list however didn't have much luck (nearly cut my finger off actually!) I did however indulge my growing love of landscape photography which I'd never do professionally but enjoy the laid back nature of it.
Apart from that I've been continuing to photograph pond species in ponds rather then a tank which has been great but tricky at best! This golden ringed dragonfly larvae was a hard one to find as they aren't common in the midlands.
I've got a few new workshops coming up with two for Greenwings.
Peak District River Walk - Not strictly for photographers more of a general wildlife walk however feel free to bring the camera. We'll be looking for dippers, water voles, goosanders and some of the riverfly life in the rivers of the peak district. for more info click here.
Residential at RSPB Arne
We'll spend 4 days on what has to be the best nature reserve in the country (in my humble opinion anyway!) Its a must for macro photographers as we look for tiger beetles, raft spiders, reptiles (the reserve has all 6 native species) and for the bird minded dartford warblers and osprey.

I have one space left for my osprey diving workshop which is the last space for the evening sessions this year! £120.00 4:30pm start til dusk 12th July. Near Rutland Water.
My new book ' Pond & River Wildlife of Britain & Europe' is out now, you can buy online though should be in book shops also. I won't be selling many signed copies but feel free to bring the book to any talks to get signed.
I'll also have a feature in The Field in July on my fish watching
Summer tends to be quite quiet for me on the talk front however I'm doing a couple of events in Leicestshire a county I tend to neglect.
Charnwood Bioblitz 8th June
Everyone loves a bioblitz don't they? I'm delighted to be helping out on the day with the freshwater habitats both ponds and streams looking for critters so plenty of pond dipping! In the evening I'll be talking about my wildlife film making.
Bradgate Park Wildlife Weekend 16th/17th June
Its a great family weekend full of activities and I'll be selling wildlife gifts.
If you'd like to join my mailist contact me here, for updates, discounts and news first before it goes online.
